In photography, well often, we do not balance well the relationship between the light and the shadow, as we ignore the shadow while we are emphasizing on the light. Light is beautiful and so is shadow.

My body of work represents the interrelationship between the light and the shadow. Shadow is not only subsidiary to the light, as she is also real, while full of content and has its own attraction. In my work, as employing only one light source, I interpreted the interrelationship of the light, the shadow, and the man in the maximum spectrum; made each of them individual, as well as depicted the connection among them. Each element that appears is a part of the image as they have the same amount of importance. For example, the distance between the man and the background, the tone of the light and its effect on the shadow etc; any alterations on any elements well affect the whole image.

In this series of work, I used only one person, one light source and one shadow; as I would like to employ the most pure language of photography to interpret the most direct sense towards imagery. If only being particular about the magnificent surface, the visual stimulation; the most in emotional language will be forgotten.

We are playing different characters and living under varieties of orders in this busy society, while we are slowly losing our original ambitions and true self, in instead, we are becoming apathetic copies, just like the face which is covered by the light in the image, no individuality, no passion, except some faint savage and twist hidden behind oneself.
