    Gao Brothers
    高氏兄弟

    FOREWORD

The ifa gallery opens a second space on Changde Road, in addition to their gallery on Moganshan Road. This new gallery is set in an elegant English house, at the heart of the international concession in Shanghai. A prestigious exhibition will mark the official opening of the ifa gallery on Changde Road with a retrospective on the photographic work of the Gao Brothers.

These siblings, always outside of the Chinese contemporary art movement, consider themselves more than just photographers, more like “stage” directors, creators of large pieces of artwork where we find, in a recurring manner, Man and the space that he fills.

Although the Gao Brothers’ works have been visible overseas, it is many years since they have had an exhibition in a gallery in China, so we are very proud to be able to present in Shanghai “Some Space for Humanity”, an exhibition curated by Bérénice Angremy with the collaboration of Marie Terrieux of Gao Qiang and Gao Zhen works.
